Park Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) are ramping up for Christmas with extra patrols and events in their main retail areas as part of the forces Operation Yuletide plans. These extra patrols and staffing are supporting retailers in tackling shoplifters and advising motorists about vehicle security in large car parks in the area. These extra patrols started on Saturday 22 November 2014 are planned throughout the run up to Christmas. The NPT will also be holding crime prevention events at Morrison’s on Holderness Road, Aldi on Preston Road and B & M on Oslo Road where the team will be offering advice to members of the public on how to avoid being targeted by thieves at home or while out and about shopping. This will include providing shoppers with advice on how to set up immobilise accounts, so presents and other items in their homes can be uploaded onto the FREE on-line site. Staff at these events will also help in deterring shoplifting at the stores and proactively seek out vehicles which are insecure or with valuables on display in the store car parks to ensure they are not targeted by thieves. The details of these community safety events are: Morrison’s, Holderness Road • Saturday 06 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Saturday 13 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Saturday 20 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs Aldi, Preston Road Hull • Wednesday 03 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Wednesday 10 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Wednesday 17 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs B & M, Oslo Road, Hull • Thursday 04 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Thursday 11 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs • Thursday 18 December 2014 between 1200hrs and 2000hrs Other dates have been set aside to provide high visibility patrolling in residential areas to provide advice to members of the public and potentially deter would be burglars in the area.
