Parker and I stepped out for a potty break just now and met a gentleman and his dog who was eager to meet Parker. He didnt seem anxious/reactive but the guy was holding him back a bit. I asked if hes friendly and the guy says uhhhh yeah, he can be a bit jumpy sometimes [laughs]. This is a jumpy kind of breed (in the sense of springs in their feet) so I took him at face value. He allowed to his dog to greet Parker face to face and immediately his dog went ballistic, snarling and snapping aggressively. I pulled Parker away and said Ok, so bitey and jumpy are totally different. Thanks. People, if youre not 100% sure that your dog is going to greet another dog in a friendly manner, please BE HONEST. Say my dog isnt friendly. NOT oh hes a bit jumpy. Im not willing to risk my dogs face for your lack of communication skills. K?
