Parking lot vigilantes abuse woman with invisible disability in Broward County Florida Mizrahi, 52, suffers short-term memory loss and needs to park in a handicapped space to find her car. Yet because she has no outward signs of a disability, she has been yelled at and found nasty notes on her car from parking lot vigilantes who thought she was a fraud. She has returned to her car to find her windshield wiper bent, her antenna snapped and a few weeks ago, her side mirror smashed. Its actually quite common, said Wayne Connell, president and founder of the Invisible Disabilities Association. Ive heard of people getting keyed, getting screamed at. Theyll give you a dirty look. We hear this over and over and over. To be ridiculed while youre parking – sometimes what people say hurts more than the illness. sun-sentinel/local/broward/fl-disabled-tag-20150102-story.html
