Parks and Recreation will break ground by the end of the year on Phase I of our Pathways to Play project, envisioned to include 10 pocket parks along the Big Bear Creek Greenbelt. Combining public art with recreation, plans for each station include 14-foot anamorphic statues of famous international landmarks and play areas. Phase I will build four stations (so, four statues). Two of the stations will include play surface and climbing elements for children to enjoy, and the other two will feature PlaytopStreet interactive surfacing - play areas with a dozen light/sound satellites embedded in them that allow users to play a variety of games.
