Parliament Update: #ParveshSahibSingh raised the issue regarding the NCT Second Act to regularize unauthorized colonies and slums in Delhi. This act details the Government policy towards unauthorized colonies and slum areas. Parvesh Sahib Singh suggested for this act to be extended till 31st December 2017 as it expires on 31st December 2014, to prevent these areas from any punitive action. Speaking in favor of the population of around 80 Lakh people living in unauthorized colonies and slum areas, Parvesh Sahib Singh pointed out that there is no policy in effect for welfare of these people depriving them of basic amenities like water, sanitation etc. and other development works. Drawing attention to history, he brought forward the negligence of Congress government on these aspects during their 15 years of ruling in Delhi for making no policy regarding the settlement of the rising population in NCT. Concluding his speech, Parvesh Sahib Singh suggested that the unauthorized colonies constructed till the end of 2014 must be regularized, on opposed to the previous policy which only regularizes the colonies made till 8 February 2007.
