Parliament ejected N Surendran (Padang Serai) for half a year with brute parliamentary majority. His crime: calling Parliament a rubber stamp. I am of course upset. I recalled a conference hosted by Kit Siang in April 2004 on parliamentary reform. The meeting was held on the day before the start of the 2004 parliament. The then Minister in Prime Minister Nazri Aziz attended the conference too. May be we need a new movement, a major conference and many public meetings on parliamentary reform to push for change.
