Parliament to take up ceasefire violations by India: Maulana Fazalur Rahman PRESS RELEASE ISLAMABAD, October 08, 2014: Maulana Fazalur Rahman, Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam and Chairman of Kashmir Committee, has expressed concern over the recent escalation of ceasefire violations at the Line of Control and Working Boundary by Indian forces saying Parliament will raise this issue after Eid holidays. He said: the Indian forces even did not regard Eid and kept shelling for last one week which is a clear violation of ceasefire between the two countries resulting in loss of four innocent lives, he said in a statement issued by the spokesperson, Jan Achakzai. He regretted that New Delhi has so far failed to restrain its forces from unprovoked shelling despite Pakistans strong diplomatic protest. He said that Pakistan rightly lodged protest with United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) as such it should be allowed to play its monitoring role effectively. He also lauded the government for showing utmost restraint and patience and now it is the duty of Indian government to ensure tranquility. Earlier, it was also the Indian government that abruptly cancelled secretary level talks rejecting all overtures by Pakistan, he added. He demanded that peace and tranquility on the Line of Control and the Working Boundary must be preserved. He said that the issue will be taken up in the Parliament after Eid holidays. End
