Ray Parlour revealed that Podolski doesn’t suit Arsene Wenger’s system, adding that the manager has better striker options at his disposal. “A lot of it’s down to work rate,” Parlour wrote on Sportslobster. “He’s good to bring off the bench. We weren’t chasing a goal so it wasn’t the right game for him. “Another problem is where do you play him? Giroud and Welbeck are ahead of him and you can’t drop Sanchez to play him on the wing. He’s not a bad player but he doesn’t really fit in the system. “If Arsenal change and play two up top then he could do more of a job. The formation we play now doesn’t really suit him.”
