Part 1 Who is prophet Muhammad SAW to muslims? (An idiots guide - or rather for the uninitiated) ------------------------------ To muslims, the most important thing in his/her life is his religion. Infact we dont even call it religion. To us muslim it is our deen. Its our life, even encompasses and preceeds life. So Islam takes precedent over everything else in our life, even life itself. In other words, one is willing to give up his life (or lay down ones life) if his religion (deen) is at stake. Nothing is more dear to a muslim than his deen. Now to some, religion is nothing more than just a belief or supposedly a belief upheld handed down the generations (no offence intended to those who are committed to ones religion). So those who think that islam is something that you can ridiculed, debased, poked fun at you better dont even think of it. The prophet for instance is the most important person in the life of muslim. Not just prophet Muhammad SAW but all the prophets including Jesus a.s. Because he is not just any mortals that you can belittle much less so humiliate before muslims. He is the massenger send by none other than the All mighty Allah as a guidance for mankind. Now can you see how important is prophet Muhammad SAW to a muslim. We do not venerate and sanctify him like idolaters do, but he occupies the highest position in respect and adulations. He has more rights on us than even our parents. In other words we dont have to listen to our parents if it runs in contrary to what has been said or told by the prophet (of course that does not give us the rights to be disrespectful to our parents) Now imagine if someone insulted your parents in your face? What would be your reaction. Naturally youll be offended and you probably be overcame by anger. Now imagine if someone does the same to prophet Muhammad SAW. How would you expect a muslim to behave. He may hold himself from doing anything physical unto you (because the prophet himself refrain and bear with patience anything that afflicts him-physically and emotionally) but he would certainly be hurt inside beyond words and comprehension. ... to be continued insyaAllah.
