(Part 3/5) 5 Steps to Troubleshoot bad or no video or problems in starting WebCam software Step 2: Install the latest video driver for your video adapter To determine the name and manufacturer of your video hardware, follow these steps: Open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. In Windows Vista, click Start the type dxdiag in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. In Windows XP and earlier versions, click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, and then click OK. Click the Display tab. Under Device, see the Name field and the Manufacturer field to determine the name and manufacturer of your video device. Click Exit to exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. After you have determined the manufacturer of your video hardware, To download the most recent version of the software, follow these steps: Visit the following Web site: download.lenovo/express/ddfm.html Select the Type, Series and Sub-series of your product. Then, select the category Video and then the operating system. Download the respective executable (.exe) and the readme (.txt) files. Follow the instruction in the readme file and update the Video software.
