Part 3 of our last segment of products in how to maintain colored hair. Alright! So we went over Sulfate free products, & pH blanced products, now for a spin on things. We encourage all natural products and I promised some DIY (do it yourself) at home things you can try on your hair. In our part 2 we went over baking soda for a DIY cleansing product and ruled it out being to harsh on hair because of the alkaline lvl being 9, but a great alternative is honey. Is honey pH balanced? Well yes it is! It is the perfect pH to balance the scalp. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can help heal dandruff. Additionally, it cleans hair without stripping the natural oils. That means the oil production of the scalp will normalize and hair will become softer. All you need is a Tsp of Organic honey and dilute it with just another warm water to make it smooth. Apply to roots, rub in, leave in for 10 min and rinse, Thats it! Now people who like to do DIY products like to rinse with vinegar, since this is a bit acidic I would suggest to dilute it. Dilute 1 – 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 1/2 cup of water to create this rinse. My last DIY product is coconut oil! If you dont know then benefits of coconut oil do some research, its really a amazing product! For your coconut oil recipe just take a tsp of coconut oil rub into hair, mainly the ends, leave in 10-15 min and rinse, Or apply to hair and comb through, put in a loose bun before bed, and rinse in the morning for the best moisturizing results. Now for rinsing, I always suggest to rinse with cool water. Cool water will help smooth down your cuticle after any color service which in turn makes hair smoother, shinier, and since the cuticle will be smoothed down helps hold in that color! I hope this helps! stay tuned for our next segment on how to maintain your hair color, with Gloss treatments, & knowing your hair color.
