Part I: Neptune Project interview, NYC, 2014 youtu.be/ZfdX7xFaps8 Over the summer New York City was honored to have been chosen as one of the cities to host the Future Sound Of Egypt 350 tour, which featured an array of big names such as Aly & Fila, John OCallaghan Official, Bryan Kearney, Solarstone and Max Graham. On the eve of the big show Esscala Entertainment hosted a Pre Party at one of Manhattan’s most prestigious nightclubs featuring Lange, Sied van Riel and making their NYC debut and headlining the night, Neptune Project. Unfortunately only one half of the duo was able to play the event, leaving the reins in Dan Willis’s hands. I was formally introduced to Dan just hours before he completely destroyed Cielo and spent the rest of the weekend with him and a few friends picking his brain on anything and everything I could think of. Dan then spent the next few weeks in the NY/NJ area and thankfully I was able to catch up with him for a proper interview a few days before he set off to LA, which I can full heartedly say is one of my favorite interviews I have done to date. Over the weeks Dan spent in the USA I got to know him more and more and he went from a complete stranger to a great friend. In a living room in Queens, while day turned into night Dan and I discussed again, anything and everything we could think of, just this time the camera was rolling. We discuss trance and how certain artist’s sound has changed over the years, as well as how his and Jule’s sound has changed. We also discuss his recent adventures and productions in the works, along with what he does in his everyday life (which really intrigued and surprised me). I’ll leave the rest of the content for you all to watch first hand. I promise you this is unlike most interviews you’ve seen here at Kidson and really hope everyone enjoys watching as much as I enjoyed making this. We’ve decided to release the interview in 2 parts, mainly due to length. Dan and I talked for over an hour but it only felt like 20 minutes. That’s the sign of a great conversation. Be on the look out for Part II later this week. Without further a due, my interview with Dan Willis from the up and coming and extremely talent trance duo, Neptune Project! // Lauren, #TEAMKIDSON
