Part XX: Jessica slowly returned to a conscious state. Despite the feeling that she had been walloped by a brick or the back of a shovel, she sat up slowly. The temporary fugue state she had been in was slowly dissipating, but she was still facing some amnesia as to what brought her here. Finding herself laying on the floor, staring at the ceiling, she began to feel a rapid rise in hear heart rate. Her young, adolescent body continued to recover quickly and she felt she was ready to hop to her feet. Dizziness ensued, with her equilibrium not quite catching up to the new height. Finding no other recourse than breathing heavily, she grabbed the back of the chair and attempted to regain her balance. The air still had an unpleasant odor, which succeeded in exciting her gag reflex multiple times. The only sound in the room was from the white fuzz that was being broadcast by the old VHS player, having run out of tape to play. As her memory began to regenerate, the last thing she recalled was coming out to the bee complex with her father. Still a bit blurry on what she was doing in this particular room, which had very little in the way of furniture, only added to her confusion. She felt the best course of action was to find a door to the outside and try to get some fresh air. Of the two doors, it was not immediately apparent which door would lead to the outside. Choosing one over the other, because of the streak of what she thought to be sunlight, she slowly turned the knob and pulled the door towards her, being careful that nobody was watching on the other side.
