Part XXVIII - The Development of Wisdom Hunter (2nd half of The Letter) “The reason Kirk is on the verge of filing for divorce is not because he wants to end the marriage. It is only because he wants Beth to be told by a court of law that he has the legal right to see his kids. From the time Kirk left ______ to go to ______ he has shown a desire for reconciliation with his wife and kids. But you seemingly have blocked him at every move. In the name of Christ I don’t understand why, Mac. He has shown a spirit of cooperation. He returned to ______ to publicly apologize to his church and to his mother. He underwent four weeks of intensive and productive counsel in Texas. He has respected Beth’s requests to stay away from the apartment and to refrain from calling her. Not only has he shown a spirit of cooperation, he has shown a change of heart as well. He is a man who has been broken, Mac. He is not trying to deceive anyone. He has admitted his faults and his sins. He has nothing else to hide. God has forgiven him, Mac. Why can’t you? Do you honestly think that God loves Kirk any less than He loves you and me? Do you think God has rejected him? It is very obvious that you don’t like Kirk. At the very moment you started disliking him, your counsel apparently ceased to be objective. It became obviously biased, and yes, even destructive. How for example, in the name of God, is it going to benefit Kirk and Beth to be forced apart, without objective counseling, for six months to a year? Why shouldn’t Kirk be allowed the opportunity to spend time with his kids? On what Biblical grounds should Beth outright refuse any further attempt to communicate with Kirk? Why is every attempt toward reconciliation absolutely and unequivocally shot down? Why did you apparently counsel her not to go to Texas and join Kirk in counsel and therapy? Why do you refuse to help set up a meeting between Kirk, Beth, yourself, and the Daystar counselor? Something is not right, Mac. A minister’s job is to reconcile, not to separate and destroy. If it is indeed true that you have not influenced Beth in the direction she’s going, if all of my conclusions in this letter are truly unfounded, then I apologize to you with the most sincere heart in the world. In that case, I beg you in the name of Christ to step in and encourage Beth to work toward reconciliation. Is the world so righteous that it doesn’t need to see a Godly example of genuine forgiveness, a Godly example of life-changing love, a Godly example of undeserving grace, and a Godly example of Christian mercy? What about the message and the eternal truth of II Corinthians 5:16-21; I Corinthians 7:5,10; Luke 7:36-48; Matthew 18:21-35; Matthew 6:12,14,15; and Matthew 5:32? I’m screaming in my soul, Mac. THINK my brother! In the name of God, THINK!” To be continued... Randall Arthur RandallArthur
