Part of Project Mongoose, AKA the Cuban Project, was to disrupt and destroy the economy of the newly socialist state... Years latter, Salvador Allende, the Chilean president at the time, spoke to the UN, telling the world that his country is facing forces that work in the shadows, without a flag alluding to secret U.S. operations that would bring down Allendes government. I think of these things and I wonder where else when poverty strikes, is fault to be found with the invisible, yet deliberate hand of U.S. Policy makers. Which governments have risen and fallen, because our bankers, our congressmen, and our presidents saw that such would meet their interests.
