Part of earth is greening up....Sleeping sands of the Kalahari awaken after more than 10,000 years Kalahari. The name conjures an arid, almost lifeless expanse, its red, iron oxide sands stretching to the horizon and beyond. Kgala, Tswana natives called it, the great thirst. Kgalagadi, its also named: the waterless place. But huge subterranean water reserves lie under the Kalahari, which covers parts of Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. Dragons Breath Cave, the largest non-subglacial underground lake on Earth, is buried there. nsf.gov/discoveries/disc_summ.jsp?cntn_id=132958&WT.mc_id=USNSF_51&WT.mc_ev=click
