Part of my job is maintaining equipment. Recently I was working on a piece that had been down for a few days. After about half an hour of tracing wire, checking voltage, and connections I was getting nowhere.....and quite frustrated. I stopped, gave myself a moment, and there on a little circuit board....a fuse. A little 5 amp fuse no bigger than a stamp. Blown. How often in our daily lives do we rush around trying desperately to find out why things arent working? Praying please Lord show me Your will for my life. Never realizing that sometimes the best thing we can do is stop and listen. First Kings 19: 11-12 gives us a great example of this. Then He said, Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord. And behind, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind, and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. How often do we as Christians hear the wind, feel the earth shake, and see the flames, but miss the still small voice of the One that holds us through it all?
