Part of the blame for Democratic losses goes to the Democrats. If anyone remembers Harrison Fords role as Jack Ryan in Clear and Present Danger - a scene occurs when the president is linked to a dead tycoon killed by drug cartel for skimming laundered money. The president is concerned about the blowback. Jack Ryan says if they ask if you knew him say you were friends, if they ask if you were friends, say you were GOOD friends- leave them with no where to go Republicans worked to tie Obama to their Democratic opponents like a millstone. All the Dems ran away from Obama like cats with a sparkler tied to their tail- giving CREDENCE to Republicans that the President - and by extension- the Democrats- couldnt govern and get good results. Yet, we have > increased health insurance opportunities for citizens > far fewer uninsured than before Obamacare > insurance rates are not skyrocketing as doomsayers predicted, but rather slower increases due to insurance competition (Exchanges) > gasoline under $3 > unemployment under 6% > increase in jobs available > increase in available jobs which are full time > falling deficit/debt > very low inflation > I am sure there are more. So why did all the Senate candidates, for example, in various states (Except Gary Peters here in Michigan) run away from Obama? They should have embraced his support and presence, touted the details I show above and completely refuted the assertions of the Republicans. Instead, they distanced themselves thereby giving credence to the Republican talking points. The Dems let doom and gloom message overwhelm positive elements
