Partial Solar Eclipse Tomorrow and Largest Sunspot of Current Cycle October 23, 2014 at Wagman Observatory The viewing window in Pittsburgh will be brief starting at 5:47 PM until the Sun sets behind buildings, trees and the horizon. The Sun is also displaying an extremely large sunspot. Never look directly at the Sun, with just your eyes or through a telescope or binoculars, serious permanent damage or blindness could result. Thursday, October 23, 2014, Wagman Observatory (Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, 3ap.org) has a good western horizon and is planning to open to the public at 5:30 PM.
