Participants of the Tawi-Tawi Provincial Consultation on the Role of Health and Nutrition in Peacebuilding held last 28 June 2014 at Rachels Place, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi believe that an improved H/N system and services are fundamentals in ensuring that we will have a better society. Theyve emphasized the need to shift the paradigm of the government in putting H/N as a priority agenda. Theyve also noted the need to develop the health-seeking behaviour of the people and strengthen both traditional and religious values that instil healthy lifestyle and attitudes. Some of their recommendations include regular community-based education on health and nutrition (short-term) and integration of H/N in all government agencies in the upcoming Bangsamoro. Members of academe, religious, youth, women, government officials, media, Badjao community leaders and NGOs/CSOs attended the workshop. This activity is part of the series of Provincial Consultations organized by UNICEF and HOM in support to the formulation of Bangsamoro Development Plan led by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA).
