“Participate and Change” The Lebanese Center for Civic Education (LCCE) is launching a series of debate sessions at the Lebanese Parliament that aim at creating positive dialogue and building communication channels between activists in universities and Parliament members. Based on focus group discussions with university activists over Lebanon, LCCE has identified six priority causes; 1) unemployment and the right to free good quality education 2) sustainable Transport and the importance of having a residential strategy 3) Personal Status Civil Law 4) Social and Health Security 5) Reform of the Internal parliament bylaws to enforce transparency and accountability 6) Decentralization The debate sessions will be organized between April and December 2014 and students are urged to register based on the topics they consider priority. This project will offer students the experience to interact with activists from other universities and will develop their skills regarding analyzing causes, providing arguments and recommendations, discussing priority issues with decision makers and making their voices heard.
