Participated in NDTVs Big Fight debate conducted well by Vikram Chandra. The topic started with #CharlieHebdon, but I focused on IPC 295(a) which came in 1929 because of Indias own Charlie Hebdon. A publisher of a book on the prophet was murdered in Punjab court room then. Then covered the restrictions on Freedom of Speech by Nehru (amendments to art 19) and Sonia regimes (66A). Finished off by declaring that we (Hindus) have been a very tolerant culture right from Adi Shankaras times. Religions were debated without any fear. With the advancement of social media, the violent cults would be checked by their own communities, thereby making freedom of expression flourish. Overall a nice experience without trying to be too aggressive.
