Parting, happy thing: When I went to the eye-clinic for the exam, I was given several tests, one of which was the color sensitivity test. There must have been about a dozen different color match-ups, with colorful numbers embedded inside differently-colored circles. I got all of them right the moment I saw them. Two of the pages were covered over with a white piece of paper. (They didnt want to use that test page, I suppose). I told the lady administering the test, Thats a white number against a white background. She did a double-take. What? Im just kidding. Oh. The final page was not a number, but a squiggly-lined design inside of the brightly-colored circle. I said, Thats not a number. Thats a squiggly line. She looked at it, laughed, and said, Youre right! As she put the book away, I asked, Was that supposed to be a difficult test? She replied, For some people, it is. It is nice that I have such excellent color sensitivity. Really, its wonderful. Not that its a useful skill, unless I was a painter or an interior designer. But I have no feel for what colors go with what, so interior design is out. And I have no sense of fashion. But I can pass those color tests really well, and that made me feel super-awesome and special. Color me burnt umber!
