Partnership between INRA and FAO for the support and maintenance - TopicsExpress

Partnership between INRA and FAO for the support and maintenance of the KOS VEST Directory AIMS and INRA [institut.inra.fr/en], the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, signed a collaboration agreement to support and maintain the English and French versions of the VEST Registry for Knowledge Organization Systems (KOS, aims.fao.org/vest-registry/browse-by-vocabularies), starting January 2014. While AIMS provides the technical infrastructure and the existing content, INRA will bring expertise and specialized resources to enhance the quality and sustainability of the registry. Therefore, AIMS and INRA agreed on: defining a set of metadata to describe KOS, and to re-define the thematic scope of the registry As part of its mandate, AIMS provides support to information management specialists to find existing Knowledge Organization Systems (KOS) that best suit their needs. This product is called the KOS VEST Registry and, to today, it hosts 147 records classified by type and subject domain. Each record is currently described in English only.
