Pass the POT! No, Im not talking about the proposed legalization/decriminalization of marijuana that people hope will happen if Justin Trudeau wins the new election. Im talking about an idea I have that could help thousands of Canadians. We just need a Prime Minister with the balls to put it forward and make it happen. How many times have you looked at your pay stub and cringed at the amount of taxes that are taken out every single week? How many times have you wanted to buy something cool or fun for your family like a colour tv or a car with wheels and got bummed out by the price after taxes? Its said that the Canadians work well over half the year just to pay our taxes. The average Canadian salary is $38,000/year which means that most of us are paying upwards of $20,000 in taxes! Wouldnt you just like to say Piss Off Taxes!!! Wouldnt you like to get that $20,000 back? Yeah? Me too! Thats why Im putting out my idea to pass the POT bill/initiative. POT (Piss Off Taxes!) - The idea. -Based on your income tax return and identifying you by your Social Insurance Number, all eligible tax paying Canadians over the age of 18 would be put into a guaranteed draw to win your taxes back for one year to be paid in with a non-taxable cheque for $20,000. - 100 names drawn every work day/52 weeks a year for a total of approx. $500 million dollars. No bullocks! 100 people a day. Guaranteed! Thats over 25,000 people a year putting $500 million dollars back into our economy. Imagine the benefits!! Non-Eligible participants: -Personal income over $100,000 (adjusted by $50,000 every 10 years) -Status Native Canadians who are already tax exempt -Welfare recipients collecting non-medical related benefits for more than 6 months/yr. -Convicted felons. -Canadian Residents with documented donations to any Separatist political party or group. -Immigrants who have not been a Canadian citizen for at least 2 years. -Persons who have won the POT draw within the past 25 years. Kickers: BOB Kicker - We have an aging population and need Canadian kids to be our future. We need to Bring On the Babies! If you win the POT draw, you will receive a bonus for every biological child under the age of majority. 1 child - $1000 Second child - $2000 Third child - $3000 etc. So, if you have 3 biological children under the age of 18 you would get a $6000 kicker. SOS Kicker - Student loans are crushing thousands of people. We need to Save Our Students! If you win the POT draw and you have an existing student loan outstanding, it will be paid off up to a total of $50,000. So, what do you think? Im not a politician nor will I ever be a politician, so try to focus on the general idea and not on who Ive decided should be eligible or ineligible. Im making this a public post and see if it gets any traction. Thoughts?
