Passengers passing through OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa or for that matter any airport in South Africa please please please make sure that your bags are wrapped with plastic. Also rather use a hard case bag instead of a material zip bag. The amount of theft occurring from passengers bags after it has been checked in is alarming. In other words it is theft that is carried out by people working at the airport who are responsible for loading the bags on the plane. My sister in law boarded a Mango flight to Durban earlier this evening from O R Tambo in Johannesburg. When she arrived in Durban she was shocked to discover her bag was open and items of value was stolen. The airport in Durban is blaming the airport in Johannesburg and vice versa with no one prepared to take the responsibility for the theft. Airport officials basically said that it is a waste of time complaining as no claim can be made if the ticket was not purchased with a credit card...Absolute BS in my opinion...
