Passing this along - tell your teacher friends and high school kids: Two Fantastic New Programs at the National Constitution Center! The National Constitution Center has unveiled a pair of exciting new opportunities for students and educators: the Founding Freedoms Essay and Playwriting Contest, and the Courts in the Community series of talks featuring judges of the Third Circuit. The Founding Freedoms Essay and Playwriting Contest is a new program designed to increase awareness of the rights set forth in the United States Constitution and other founding documents, and to engage students to think creatively about our nations great history.The contest is currently open to 6th, 8th, and 12th grade students from the Delaware Valley region in public, private, and parochial schools, as well as those in registered home-study programs. The winning students and teachers will be invited to attend a formal awards ceremony at the National Constitution Center on March 14th, 2015. For Founding Freedoms Essay and Playwriting Contest rules, deadlines, and prize information, click here: Courts and the Community is an exciting and informative joint venture between the National Constitution Center and the Third Circuit.
