[Passionate In2 is into Culture] 지난 5월 말 오픈과 동시에 뉴욕매거진, 뉴욕타임즈, Tasting Table, GrubStreet, EaterNY 등 뉴욕 푸드트렌드를 섭렵하는 에디터들의 이목을 끌고있어 일부러 LES까지 가봤습니다. 수제 아이스크림샵 Morgensterns Finest Ice Cream을 소개합니다~ 숨쉬기도 힘든 뜨거운 공기를 헤치고 Rivington Street 골목으로 들어서자마자 눈에 확 들어오는 파란색 외관에 마음부터 시원해지는 느낌! 60년대 미국의 전통적인 다이너를 모던한 ice cream parlor로 풀어낸 디자인도 좋아요. 뻔하지 않은 재료들을 섞어 제작한 독특한 flavor들로 구성되어 있는데, 진득하지 않으면서 간결하고 깔끔한 끝맛, 평범하지 않아요...! 저는 Raw Milk 아이스크림에 코코넛칩을 올려봤습니다 (사진!) Pastry-chef출신 닉 모겐스턴이 직접 구상해낸 30여가지의 크리에이티브한 맛들 중에 이 5가지를 추천합니다: Burnt Honey Vanilla Champagne Mango Raw Milk Green Tea Pistachio Salted Pretzel 날마다 판매하는 맛들이 달라요~ Cash-Only* *** Since its May opening, this ice-cream shop has been all over EaterNY, GrubStreet, NYTimes, NYmag, TimeOut (press that counts). A Yelper, who allegedly has tried every “good” ice-cream shop in the city, calls it “the best in New York”. So we went all the way to the LES to try out Morgensterns Finest Ice Cream. And finest it really was! I had a scoop of the Raw Milk on a waffle cone, with coconut chips sprinkled on top (as pictured). Morgensterns hand-churred ice cream is all about subtle yet surprising flavors that arent cloyingly sweet. They make over 25 original flavors of ice cream by hand directly out of their basement. Not every flavor is sold every day, so make sure to keep coming back to try others! If you know your New York neighborhoods, you’ve probably been brunching in the vicinity! But even if the LES is a far commute for you, a taste of the perfect subtlety of Morgenstern’s concoctions will be a sweet reward to cool you off for your trip back.
