Past week has been an absolute blur. Got back from Vegas on Tuesday and had to coach 3 hours later. Coached with FSB on Wednesday then an FSB practice followed by BBC U15 on Thursday. 7 games in 3 days at the Langley Events Centre for the Basketball BC U15 Zone Championships. Got to talk to a number of coaches from around the Province and meet some kids. But more importantly, it was fun coaching the 18 kids that represented the two Van East teams - we had a number of laughs (EJ.....) but there were also times when I had to come down hard on them. Van East A - We went 4-1 this weekend and lost to a very motivated BurWest team that we had beat in scrimmage play a few weeks ago. Not taking anything away from those kids as it was obvious they wanted to beat us. We came close but lost 54-49 and hopefully everyone learned a lot in the process of the defeat. Van East takes 2nd place for two years in a row at the U15 championships. Dimalanta Van East B - Went 1-3 and in two of the games played really hard and fortunately got a win out of it. Fun group of kids that Im sure well see during the high school season.
