Pastor Bryan J. Pierce ,Sr WOW 3/26/14 Subject: Battlefield of the mind 2. Continuation of previous notes: All of these cover why we are saved. We are here because God wants us to get His word in us. We need the word to help us hold captive the thoughts that are not of God. If we are going to win the battle of the mind we need to have a winning mindset. If we are going to win it starts with our mentality. The first battle with evil was with Eves mind. Eve was deceived. The Lord told Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree. Genesis 3:1 Her messed up mentality showed up in her relationships. The relationship with God was messed up. They hid themselves from God when they used to run to God. Adam and Eves marriage was messed up. Genesis 2:23 and genesis 3:12. Adam first called her bone of my bone then called her the women You mays still have a house but was kicked out of your home a long time ago. We need to make up in our minds that we want what God wants for us. Roman 12:2 Dont enter into things; jobs, relationships, etc unless God wants it for us. Do not let the world shape us into their mold or system. When the bible talks about the world it is talking about a system Lust if the flesh Lust if the eyes Pride of life the worlds system Transformed- metamorphosis is a radical or drastic change. God is not looking for us to turn over a new leaf, hes looking for us to turn over the tree. In order to win the battlefield of the mind is to have a renewed mind. A renewed mind is a winning mindset. Winning: 1. Honest self evaluation: Romans 12:3 Cant hang around people that will tell you what you want to hear. If you think too highly of yourself you will think youre above everyone else. Also cant think too low of yourself. With thinking low of yourself youll accept and settle for things. It is my relationship with God that balances me and not my relationship with man. You dont lose your value when you lose man, job, money, etc..... You can have little finance but great faith. 2. Honor others above yourself Romans 12:10 Place others first The worlds way is the get all you can, can all you get and spoil the rest. Its easy for us to honor those above us. We have problems honoring those around us all the time. Be about serving, community. Do things for people that may never be able to do anything for us. Kingdom is to serve the least of us. The winning mindset is to celebrate others. Also participate..... When people are jealous and refuse to honor others they have a problem with Devine distribution. When God gave someone their car, job, man it wasnt Gods last one. We need to learn how to wait on God. 3. Hard work Romans 12:11 Women cant be lazy... Have to be driven. 4. Harmony: Romans 12:16-21 That of harmony, intimacy, peace. Cant mix war faring mentality with the warring mindset. The warring concept always looks for confusion. Forgive people. Some cant move on because we havent forgiven. Let it go God wants to take our hands off it because we may over compensate or we may under pay them. Let there punishment be Gods punishment The difference between losing and winning is learning to let it go!!
