The word heaven appears some 550 times in the Bible. It is the word most used to describe the three different heavens that exist: The first heaven is the atmospheric heaven where the birds live. The second is the star sky or heaven, the place of the sun, moon, planets and stars. The third heaven is Gods heaven, the house of God, where God dwells. When Christians speak of the sky, usually we refer to the divine. And the Bible refers to the sky with various terms, such as the house of my Father John 14: 2 In my Fathers house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.). The City of the living God (Hebrews 12:22). Mount Zion (Hebrews 12:22). The heavenly Jerusalem Hebrews 12:22; Revelation 21: 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.). Paradise Luke 23:43; He said to him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. 2 Corinthians 12: 4; Revelation 2: 7). The Third Heaven 2 Corinthians 12: 2 I know a man in Christ above fourteen years ago (do not know whether in the body I do not know if the body, God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.). A better country, a heavenly country, a heavenly city Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be [a] called their God, for he has prepared a city .. (Hebrews 11:16). The Holy City (Revelation 21: 2). The Bible tells us that this third heaven, although we can not see is as real as the first and second heaven. There are at least 6 reasons to believe that heaven is a real place: 1. (John 14: 1-3) Jesus called to Heaven my Fathers house, and said that he was going there to prepare a place for theirs. According to Jesus, heaven is a real place. 2. (Revelation 21: 9-22: 5) Here the sky with details described as majestic and glorious and fascinating. It is described as a real place, a walled city with gates, foundation and a street. 3. (Matthew 10: 32-33) Jesus taught that heaven is where God dwells in the present. 4. (2 Corinthians 12: 2-4) The apostle Paul said to have visited the third heaven where God dwells. 5. (Philippians 3: 20-21) In these verses Paul tells us that true of every Christian citizenship is in heaven. And obviously you can not have a legitimate citizenship in a place that does not exist. 6. (Hebrews 11:16) The sky is called our heavenly home, and a city. It is relevant that the Bible begins human existence in an orchard that was a real place and ends in a city known as New Jerusalem, which is also a real place. So what is heaven a real place?
