Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Friday August 22, 2014 1 Corinthians 14:40, Let all things be done decently and in order. Order is essential to any organization. If a group of people are not working in concert with one another, they will be working in opposition to one another. In our church we expect the ushers to focus on ushering, the worship leaders on leading worship, and the childrens ministers are to teach our children. If the Pastor was teaching from the pulpit and someone else stood up and started talking it would cause confusion, and hinder what God wants to speak to that church that day. The Apostle Paul gives us this exhortation to do all things decently and in order in the context of spiritual gifting. To experience a church using their gifting(s) in harmony with each other is to see Gods ordained order. The best way to see this happen in your church is to exercise control over the person you have the most control over; yourself. Once you have determined your gifting there are a few other things to consider. Taking the whole church into consideration you must determine the time and place that your gifting best will serve the body of Christ. Comparing your gifting and the church God has called you to; know Gods purpose and plan for you there. You must also understand that your gifting was given to you for His glory and gratification. When gifts are being exercised decently and in order, then Gods will is being fulfilled and that church will be achieving His purpose. 1 Corinthians 14:33, For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
