Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Monday September 8, 2014 2 Corinthians 10:7, Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? ... I had an early morning meeting with the men of our church a while ago and on the drive over, I spilt coffee on my shirt. I was able to clean most of it off, but it left a fist sized stain on my light blue shirt. I had an unreasonable thought, maybe no one will notice. But I knew it was there and I was very self-conscious about it. After a while I forgot about it and went about the meeting as if nothing had happened. Afterward, one of the guys noticed it and pointed it out, and the rest of the guys chimed in and I was exposed for the spiller that I am. After the meeting everyone left and as I went about my day I forgot about it again until the UPS guy noticed it and said something. This obvious stain upon me was getting harder and harder to ignore. Finally I called my wife and asked her to bring me a clean shirt, she did, I changed, and everything was fine the rest of the day. Although I was still a person who spilled I was no longer seen as a spiller. The Lord wants us to be reasonable about the reality that sin plays in our lives, but also about the reality of the Lords ability to deal with the sin in our lives. Christian, although your sins are real in your life, obvious to everyone, and have left a noticeable stain, God will wash you in such a way that the change is what will stand out over all. It is what Christ accomplished upon the cross, so that when He looks upon us it is just as if we have never sinned. Romans 5:20, Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
