Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Sunday December 21, 2014 Revelation 12:10–11, Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. The Book of Revelation is an amazing book of the bible. There are events and prophecies which are hard to comprehend, there are warnings that we all would do well to heed, and there are typologies that we need to compare scripture with scripture to understand. Some ministries have based their mission statement off of this book and end time prophecies. There were certain points in history that the study of this book was discouraged because it was believed that man would never understand what was being said. Regardless of what you believe concerning the timing of the rapture, order of events, or meaning of what is depicted, there is one crystal clear message throughout the bible. We once again see it in our verses today, and that would be Gods glorious gospel of salvation by grace through faith. The loud voices in heaven are the collective voices of all born again believers in heaven, and their concern is for the believers still on earth. The brethren spoken of here are those who are living for Christ in the most Godless of times. As the Devil has lost these to salvation, he seeks to render them ineffective. The accusation that he makes against them is the reminder of their sinful nature which kept them from the rapture in the first place, but they are able to overcome these true accusations the same way we are able to, by the blood of the Lamb. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He died for all who had sinned before His crucifixion, those Old Testament saints who died in faith in what God promised to do. He also died for those who were sinning at the time of His crucifixion. We see this when He cried out, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He also died for those who would come later. This would include us today, but also those who would repent and believe unto salvation even in the final days. Salvation always has been and always will be about the grace of God which is available to all mankind. 1 Chronicles 29:11, Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all.
