Forsyth Have a Jesus Day,Pastors Terrence & Sabrina P.S. Witchcraft is the root of all rebellion. When you treat the root of the tree, you treat the fruit. So what is the root? Rebellion! This Spirit of Rebellion is the root of all human problems. And these roots run the deepest.Let’s turn to 1 Samuel 15. Here you have Samuel the prophet. God instructed King Saul to attack and utterly destroy the Amalekites for opposing the children of Israel when they first arrived in the promise land. Through the prophets, God gave him specific instructions, which means he gave him details upon details. And this is where the body of Christ misses the boat. When God gives us specific and precise instructions, we’ll listen but we won’t obey.What’s the difference? You can hear me speaking directly to your spirit man, but it doesn’t mean that you will respond and obey! So in other words, we would limit our obedience. We’ll do what is easy, but that which our flesh wants to stay apart of, we’ll have a hard time departing with! See it’s no problem dealing with something that is easy to give up. But if it’s something that God tells you to leave and we love so deeply, then there begins the negotiation with God. What do we say? Well God I hear you. But I tell you what God; if I don’t see any improvement in 3 months, then I’ll know that it’s you telling me to leave it alone. But just like Abraham, that which we don’t want to give up, could be a testing of our heart.So in other words, it could necessarily be that God does not really want you to give it up. But he maybe is testing your heart and your commitment to him to see if you would give it up that that certain thing at the drop of the hat if he told you to do so.And this is what the prophet did for King Saul. He gave him specific instructions. He said destroy everything! Anything that’s walking in the camp of the Amalekites, kill it! But King Saul partially obeyed God. But how many of you all know that partial obedience is still disobedience? You don’t get credit for doing half of your homework. If you turn in half of your homework, you might as well say you didn’t do any of it, because the teacher isn’t going to accept half done work. And that is what the Spirit of God is saying to us.
