Pastors Moment: In the book of Deuteronomy 2:3, God gives a life changing instruction, You have circled this mountain long enough. Now turn north... According to Deuteronomy 1:2, it only took 11 days from Egypt to Canaan. So why did the Israelites take a whole 40 years to complete an 11 day journey? How long have you taken going round the same mountain? Why is it that you are circling though the same struggles? In the Battlefield of the Mind, Joyce Meyer notes that the Israelites took 40 years because they had the Wilderness Mentality. They saw the Red Sea part, got Manna described by the psalmist as the Angels food, saw water from a rock, got supply of quail meat but they kept complaining. How long are you going to complain instead of changing course, we all know the phrase you cannot keep doing the same thing, in the same way and expect different results. Their wilderness mentality was simple, keep going, do not mind the destination, no goals, no focus just keep walking and looking for the next complain. There are many of us who are always looking for the next thing we can complain about. We either await an announcement or an update and we begin complaining instead of identifying opportunities. Others complain about their work conditions more than the analyze their service, many of us lament he lack of chances and spend little time attempting to take advantage of the chances that exist. In the end your blessing, your Canaan destination that should have taken only 11 days is taking 40 days. God has a message for you today, you have circled that mountain for too long, it is now time to turn North. Change direction of your struggle. Start saving it does not matter how much you make, write your idea into a business plan and start souring financing of the plan even as you continue dropping Cvs for a dream job...Turn North, you have circled that mountain long enough. Stop complaining and start offering solutions, alternative views and you will find you are building a stronger optimistic self, a happier community And a more responsive nation.
