Pastors of any congregational size are generally territorial of the people they serve; and I am no different. I am so thankful and proud to be the pastor of a congregation who are much larger than the size of its membership. They are not about styles, fades, or keeping up with the latest church trends. Today during our Eighty-ninth Church Anniversary Celebration they clearly showed me that they understand Kingdom principles and Kingdom building. A multi-generational and multi-racial congregation of worshipers filled the sanctuary with praise! Bishop Ernestine Cleveland-Reems taught and inspired us to reach the nations for Christ. She challenged the men to win fifty more men before year’s end, and each woman to win five additional souls to Christ. She challenged us all to fill the sanctuary to an overflow, so that we might fulfill our Kingdom assignment. “Let the Holy Spirit interrupt your day to do ministry,” she said. Her godly wisdom and insight to Christian discipleship drew seekers to the altar for a fresh anointing to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Memorial Tabernacle Church Family, for your hard work, sacrifice, service, and contributions—and for making this day a huge success.
