Pastor’s Corner NEXT Sunday, October 19th, we will hold our first Parish “town hall” meeting. This gathering will be an opportunity for those in parish leadership to present an update of the status of the parish and provide the chance for some questions & answers from those who attend. The two main groups who will offer this update will be members of the Pastoral and Finance Councils. The information to be shared will focus on the respective areas of these committees: namely, the Parish’s fiscal position/outlook and a report on its mission and ministry - with a focus on the visionary plan for the future. To assist in communicating the data that will be discussed at the “town hall” meeting, the parish’s annual financial report has been inserted into this week’s bulletin. Please take some time to review this statement. I believe it is crucial that you know how your donations are being managed. I also ask that we all pray in preparation for this meeting. We have been invited by the Lord to be part of His Church and so, when it comes to the ministry and mission of the Church that has been entrusted to us in this parish, we must first seek the guidance and wisdom of our loving, all-knowing, all-powerful God. I would also encourage you to think about the things you would like to see in our parish that will help further the faith formation of all of us and challenge us to fulfill the Christian responsibility to reach out to those in need; especially the poor, the elderly and the young among us.
