Pastor’s Email College Devotion The Week of Pentecost 14 October 5, 2014 PROMPT -- Love all God’s creation, both the whole and every grain of sand. Love every leaf, every ray of light. Love the animals, love the plants, love each separate thing. If thou love each thing thou wilt perceive the mystery of God in all… ~~ Feodor Dostoevsky (1821-1881) From Pocket Positives for Inspiration Maggie Pinkney, compiler REFLECTION -- We had our annual Pet Blessing service this afternoon, in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. Although not as large a gathering as usual, we had some dogs and cats, and a beautiful day in which to enjoy God’s good earth. Most of us are struck by the power and grace of the natural world … but do you also see God in it? And not just as an abstract Creator, but a living breathing presence within every part of nature. If we all saw that, might we not take better care of our world? A fun day in church today. We had two babies baptized at the late traditional service and they were a joy. Pr. Sarah Teichmann preached in New Day and I preached in traditional. Our Carol Choir (our youngest singers) offered an amazing rendition of “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” Check out the video on FB. I hope the semester continues to go well. Have fun and study hard. Remember to always make choices that you and those you love will be proud of. SCRIPTURE -- God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. (Genesis 1:31, NRSV) Fall Blessings, Pastor Ross
