Pat and I went to see "20 Feet From Stardom" at the Laemmle theater in Pasadena this evening. What a splendid movie! Lots of music and an inside look at the world of "background singers", especially Darlene Love, who appears in an Evie Sands video from the 60s, and who "sat in" with Joan Jett on "Good Music" in the 80s, and Merry Clayton, whose chilling vocal on "Gimme Shelter" added the final touch to that Stones song.
