Pat, this may be on the edge of dont discuss, but Im gonna ask anyway. You and other designers are paid to design fabric and/or use a manufacturers fabric line in projects to help sell the product. OK, thats an understood. However, many of us, for various reasons, have stashes. We have a mixture of old and current fabric designs, shades and colors. When a project is posted in magazines, in print or on-line, the designs use the new fabrics. In most cases the design of the project showcases the new fabric line and is not easily adaptable to previously printed fabric designs. Having taught locally, one of my biggest challenges is working with quilters who are attracted to a class because of the colors and/or fabrics used in the class sample. When they cannot find these particular fabrics they become disenchanted. Is there an less stressful way to deal with the differences or changes in fabric design/color when the sample line is not readily available or if a quilter wants to use a different color way?
