Patchy high clouds around through the first part of the night will tend to move out later on, cold dry weather prevails with lows near 10° in the Capital Region, lots of singles digits northern areas, some below zero in especially the Adks. More cold quiet weather in store for Wed. with incr. pm clouds, highs in the mid to upper 20s. Some very light snow or snow showers still appears likely Wed. night into Thur as a moist ocean flow develops and works into the region as low pressure passes well to our south. Any accumulations at this point look quite light of an 1 or less, maybe a few high spots in the Catskills and Berkshires with 2, but spotty. Dry on Friday, near 30 and what appears will be more dry weather through the weekend, with highs from 30-35. However, there will be an off shore storm of some substance passing south and east of the region from Sat. PM through Sat night...and although it appears the track will be far enough south for a miss, it could very well be a close call...so Ill be watching that carefully through the week.
