Path to Spiritual Enlightenment Gouache & pigment liner pen on A2 - TopicsExpress

Path to Spiritual Enlightenment Gouache & pigment liner pen on A2 heavyweight cartridge paper. (I will add the W.I.P photos as a separate album so you can see how I got to the end) This was inspired by aboriginal art during a session with my art group. It is a symbolic story of my life. The Gecko symbolises me & my depression & how I feel trapped & want to scuttle away & hide, then we follow the path to the black & grey circles which symbolise me going round in circles (especially with my SAD). We then move up to the phoenix which symbolises my new beginnings in my life, moving onto the heart symbolising learning to love myself so that, in time, I can let someone into my life to love me again. Then we follow the path to the swallow, the symbol of hope, hope for my future, that I am on the right path to where I want to be. Then finally we come to the YingYang symbol, where I hope to learn to find the right balance in my life, where my health no longer controls most of my life. The colours for these symbols signify what each symbol means. Dark blue, black & greys symbolise depression, the pale blue & white, hope, the blue-green/teal symbolise calm & balance. All the colourful circles symbolise Fibromyalgia & its myriad of symptoms, some small & insignificant, others large, in your face & taking control of my life. The purple path is my spiritual journey through my life. At the moment I am just at the beginning, learning how to live my life in a way that is kinder to myself yet stills gets me to where I want to be. Hope you like it.
