Patient Update: Josias Last year, we met Josias for the first time, an eight-year old boy living in the Republic of Congo with multiple tumours in his lymph nodes. An avid learner, he was forced to stop his schooling because of the ridicule he constantly received from the other children. Thanks to the amazing team of doctors and nurses and the support of donors around the world, Josias received a free surgery aboard the Africa Mercy. His operation was one of over 600 maxillofacial surgeries performed by volunteer surgeons in the Congo. Josias was so excited to see the massive growth removed from the right side of his neck! We were excited to be a part of his journey of healing.
