Patient in case No. 65 of our Liposuction Case Studies went - TopicsExpress

Patient in case No. 65 of our Liposuction Case Studies went further to have an Annie Jung to post derogatory remark about us on internet chat forums, and sent us an email threatening to sue us and bring this case to the attention of medical council should we not take down her case study and posts about her. This is our reply to her: Dear XXX Dr Arthur has never revealed your personal identity in any of his posts. He agrees to take down his Facebook wall posts and your case study under the following terms: 1. You have to remove all your and Annie Jung’s posts from all internet chat forums which defame Dr Arthur. 2. You have to issue a public apology on those forums for tarnishing Dr Arthur’s reputation. You have to do the above first before we can take down our posts. Otherwise, we will continue to post updates based on what you and Annie have posted on those forums. We have prepared a team of lawyers should you wish to fight this out in court. You may pursue this with the medical council as well. None of the posts reveals your personal information or identity. As for the photographs, you have signed photographic consent allowing us to use your photos. You have no case at all! On the other hand, we can sue you for defamation, as you have made a personal attack on Dr Arthur Tjandra by naming him on the internet. We are in the midst of tracking the IP address of Annie Jung and contacting the Internet Service Provider as well as administrators of those forums, which will eventually reveal that Annie is none other than yourself. If you wished to go to court, the court would have to issue a court order to reveal the real identity of Annie Jung. In case you are not familiar with the landmark case in Indonesia where a patient was jailed for defaming the hospital she was admitted in, please Google Prita Mulyarsi. Prita Mulyarsi was put up in prison in May 2009, after she sent 20 of her friends an email complaining of her poor treatment in Omni International Hospital in Tangerang, Jakarta. The doctor in the hospital had diagnosed her with dengue fever and given her shots to fight the disease. When her symptoms kept getting worse, she decided to get a second opinion. At another hospital, she learned she had the mumps. Through her friends her email ended up on blogs and the social networking site Facebook. Omni hospital was not amused and promptly filed suit for libel. Prita was sentenced to pay 261 million rupiah in damages. She was put behind bars when she failed to come up with that sum of money. You have to understand that it is for the benefits of other prospective patients for us to put up your case studies. All cosmetic surgery patients MUST really know what they want before they get any procedures done. Your case is a very good example of someone who is easily-influenced by what friends and relatives say, because you yourself are not sure what you really want. We quoted this from your internet chat forum posts: 1. Your first post appeared on Cozycot on 19th May 2013 at 02.36 PM. You mentioned about your surgery, but nothing was mentioned about unhappiness with your face. 2. After returning to Singapore and meeting your friends, you posted this on 21-05-2013 09:46 PM: My friends all commented my face now looks bigger than before which I myself felt so too. 3. From being too big, you decided that your face has now become too small and sunken, by posting this on 28-05-2013 08:45 PM: My lipo for jowls and chin went very wrong. When I went back home, all my friends and family members commented the area near my mouth corner was much more sunken than before. Did you realize that all your posts were about what your friends think? Not what you yourself think! Therefore, it is very important for us to use this case to illustrate how important it is to know exactly what you want before going under the knives. Our Case Studies are made to educate the public and all prospective patients who wish to come to us or any other surgeons for surgeries. We never reveal your personal identity. All the information we made available on the posts and case study was retrieved from what you yourself posted online for the world to see. This is not infringing any privacy or confidentiality. Let us know once you have taken down all your posts and issue a public apology on all the internet chat forums where you have personally attack Dr Arthur Tjandra by naming him. Under Indonesian law, we can sue you for defamation. Once you have done that, we will take down our posts about you as well. Kind regards,
