Patna serial blasts: Cops raid suspects house in Jharkhand, detain two people Alok K N Mishra, TNN | Oct 27, 2013, 10.53 PM IST RANCHI: Jharkhand Police conducted raids in Dhurwa area of the city late on Sunday night and have reportedly detained two people in connection with the serial blasts in Patna that killed five people and left 83 injured ahead of Narendra Modis Hunkar rally at Gandhi Maidan. The city cops have seized photo of Osama bin Laden, a pressure cooker, detonator wires, timer and explosives from the house of the accused, who was arrested by Patna Police immediately after the blasts and hails from Ranchi. The seized materials were brought to Dhurwa police station late on Sunday night and state DGP Rajiv Kumar confirmed the seizure. Sources in the police said that more people from Ranchi are involved in the case and raids would be carried out at their houses. They, however, did not disclose the number of people wanted in the connection of serial blasts A series of raids were conducted in different parts of the state capital after Bihar police intimated their Jharkhand counterpart that the accused hails from Ranchi. The accused, who lives in a slum on the outskirts of the city, was present at platform number 10 of Patna railway station where the first blast took place injuring several passengers most of whom were there to attend Modis rally at Gandhi Maidan. He reportedly started to run away from the railway station in a suspicious manner soon after the blast took place at 9.30am. He was caught by the police who suspected him to be an accused. Ranchi police sent a team to raid the house of the accused, where two persons were reportedly detained and the seizures were made. I have not seen the materials personally, so I cannot say much about it. We are investigating the matter further, Jharkhand DGP Kumar told TOI. The state DGP, however, did not confirm the detentions. I will let you know after sometime, Kumar said, when asked about two people being detained. The police are tight-lipped about the detention. We have been asked not to disclose details to the media as of now, said a senior police official.
