Patricia Ann Love-Bird PSALMS AND PROVERBS FOR WOMEN AND MEN THE BALANCING ACT DAY 311 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 Face facts: life is a delicate balancing act, a tightrope walk with over-commitment on one side and under-commitment on the other. And its up to each of us to walk carefully on that rope, not falling prey to pride ( which causes us to attempt too much ) or to fear ( which causes us to attempt too little). Gods Word promises us the possibility of abundance ( John 10:10). And we are far more likely to experience that abundance when we lead balanced lives. Are you doing too much-or too little? If so, its time to have a little chat with God. And if you listen carefully to His instructions, you strive to achieve a more balanced life, a life thats right for you and your loved ones. When you do, everybody wins. A DAILY PSALM You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth. Psalm 71:5 A GOD-MADE MAN DAY 311 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 We have heard the phrase on countless occasions: Hes a self-made man. In truth, none of us are self-made. We all owe countless debts that we can never repay. Our first debt, of course, is to our Father in heaven-who has given us everything we are and will ever be-and to His Son who sacrificed His own life so that we might live eternally. We are also indebted to ancestors, parents, teachers, friends, spouses, family members, coworkers, fellow believers...and the list, of course, goes on. Most of us, it seems, are more than willing to stick out our chests and say, Look at me; I did that! But in our better moments, in the quiet moments when we search the depths of our own hearts, we know better. Whatever it is, God did that. And He deserves the credit. A DAILY PROVERB By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4
