I believe the title of the article is misleading as he got three days of in school suspension which doesnt really count for much if its anything like the in school suspensions that I remember. Also, he had broadcast his plan to ask her out well in advanced and was warned by school officials well in advance too. Therefore, due to school policies and the instructors holding to their word, they had every right to punish him. On the contrary, I do find their idea to punish a kid for asking Miss America out a bit stupid. In fact, when he brings her a flower on stage, everyone in the school cheered and laughed. So how I see it, if this kid gets suspended, at least he can walk away knowing he accomplished his goal with courage and confidence. Three days of in school suspension is worth the time. In conclusion, I believe there are more important issues in the news. Everyone attacking the school can calm down. Everyone saying Miss America is ugly needs to leave her alone. And everyone saying the kid was foolish needs to back off. That is all!
