Patriotism is a cultural and emotional attachment to ones homeland. Zanu PF is the Front for all those who are Patriotic. All those that are ready to defend that which is Zimbabwean. We have many political parties in Zimbabwe in whose name the initial Z does not appear. They dont even have an A to indicate the African Nationhood. You really can take these parties and just as well transplant them in any country and they will fit. This is because there is nothing home-grown , patriotic or Zimbabwean about them except that their people are Zimbabwean. However being Zimbabwean is not about a passport or a National ID or Chitupa/Isitupha. It is about your value system. It is the feeling you get that in spite of poverty, joblessness and all other problems, my country is the best country above all those affluent others. It is that spirit that makes one never to feel at home no matter how many years they stay in another country. It is that longing you feel for your own country no matter what the other country has given you. The love of oness country does not necessarily culminate in one living in it. It is a sense of belonging which is difficulty to explain just as the sentiment love itself. Ones geographical location cannot be used as a yardstick of whether they love their country or not. The basis should be what they are doing for their country. #iwenenitinebasa.
