Patriotism...really what is that? Is it some kind of chauvinism, jingoism, ultranationalism? Some mindless allegiance to a country? Only in times of national tragedy, we are 1Malaysia? And yet we have this notion that at all cost, we give ourselves for the love of a flag? What happens when things settles down and the tragedy is put behind us? Do we continue to swallow racist swill? Accept a regime that thrives on duplicity and deceit? We lament inequality and get furious when there is fatal miscarriages in the system and yet, like a battered wife syndrome, we rally behind those that posture and pit us against the other! For bringing this to question, I am labelled as an extremist, a scum of the worst kind, a hater, etc. Oh really? At what point am I being insensitive when I point out the truth? Is there a proper tone, time and place for truth? Where is your moral consistency? What hypocrites you are..feigning patriotism when really you are a bunch of nitwits!
